Requirements: We recommend joining the assessment event using a desktop or tablet, but feel free to use a mobile phone if needed.

Check your PC/Tablet meets the following specifications:

Operating System: At least Windows 10 or macOS 10.12+, iPhone 7+, Any mobile device using Android device 8+ with Chrome.

Functionality: Your device requires a microphone, speaker or headphones and an inbuilt camera/webcam.

Browser: For the best experience, use Google Chrome.

Troubleshooting:

  • – Cache: Clear down your cache and cookies from your browser to ensure that no programmes are blocking your camera/microphone. How you clear your cache will be different on every device – check Google for further instructions.
  • – Internet Speed: It’s important that you access the virtual event with a good/reliable internet connection to ensure that our assessors and candidates can see and hear you throughout the duration of the event. 

The minimum required bandwidth is 600kbps (up/down) and recommended is 1.5 Mbps (up/down). You can test your speed here.

Firewall, VPN or Proxy servers

Do not use a firewall, proxy, or VPN – even if it seems to work at first, it will likely cause connection problems. 

Use a personal device and a personal network (like home Wi-Fi). Corporate networks or devices often have restrictions that can block Whereby from working properly.For the best experience, always connect from a personal setup without any extra network filters.
